GEORGIA — A man was found dead early Friday morning in Mystic, according to authorities in Irwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the man had been attending a bonfire with friends in a yard overnight. Sheriff Paul Chaney said one of the friends went inside a residence around 3 a.m., leaving the man by the fire. When the friend returned later in the morning, the man was found unresponsive.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene, and the man was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
Authorities said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was contacted regarding the incident, but officials indicated the GBI is not actively investigating at this time.
No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the death have been released.
