
GEORGIA — A Georgia woman was found dead after her mobile phone automatically alerted first responders to a vehicle crash late Tuesday night, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said emergency crews were dispatched to the 4800 block of Reed Creek Highway in Hartwell shortly before 11:30 p.m. after a mobile phone reported that a crash had occurred.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a vehicle that had rolled over multiple times. Authorities said the driver had been ejected during the crash.
The driver was identified as 45-year-old Candice Allison Mize of Hartwell.
Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but Mize was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The Georgia State Patrol responded to assist with the investigation into the crash. The Hart County Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene.
Officials asked the public to keep Mize’s family in their thoughts and prayers as the investigation continues.
