TEXAS — A man was found dead after a crash in northeast Houston late Thursday night, and investigators say the vehicle he was driving had multiple bullet holes.
According to Houston police, officers were called around 9:30 p.m. to the 12400 block of Woodforest Boulevard after the Houston Fire Department requested assistance.
When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into a barrier. During the investigation, police discovered several bullet holes in the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities described the victim as a young adult male. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
Investigators are working to determine whether the shooting occurred at the crash site or at another location prior to the crash. Police said only one spent shell casing was found near the vehicle, and it is unclear whether it is connected to the incident.
Because of the number of bullet holes and the lack of evidence at the scene, investigators believe the shooting may have occurred elsewhere. Officers are checking with other agencies to determine whether any nearby shootings were reported around the same time.
No suspects have been identified, and no motive has been released. Homicide detectives continue to investigate the case.
