OHIO — A 47-year-old woman was killed Thursday night in a three-vehicle crash in Defiance County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. on Domersville Road near Flory Road in Adams Township. Troopers said a preliminary investigation found that a teenage driver was traveling north on Domersville Road in a Chevrolet Malibu when he drove left of center and struck a mini-van.

The impact disabled both vehicles. Authorities said debris from the collision also struck a pickup truck traveling in the area. The pickup driver was able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop and was not injured.

The driver of the mini-van, identified as Jennifer Bartlett, 47, of Alvordton, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the mini-van sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Investigators said neither Bartlett nor her passenger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The teenage driver of the Malibu, who also was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to a Defiance hospital for treatment. He was later airlifted to a hospital in Columbus with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, Adams Township Fire Department, Defiance City EMS, South Richland EMS, ProMedica Air and John’s Towing.
