KENTUCKY — A three-vehicle crash in Lexington on Tuesday afternoon left one person dead and two others injured, according to the Lexington Police Department and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. in front of 3836 Tates Creek Road. Police identified the deceased as 24-year-old Cary “Danielle” Griffing of Lexington.
The coroner’s office determined she died at the scene from blunt trauma injuries to the head and torso, ruling her death an accident.
Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
The collision reconstruction unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
Tates Creek Road has since reopened.
According to Kentucky State Police, this marks the seventh fatal crash in Fayette County this year, with the last occurring on Feb. 19.
