PENNSYLVANIA — A fatal two-vehicle crash on Monday night left one person dead and two others seriously injured.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Morgantown and Tent Church roads.
A Chevy Cruze reportedly rolled past a stop sign and collided with an oncoming Subaru Legacy.
Tyler Keith Shaffer, 24, of Georges Township, was a passenger in the Chevy.
He was ejected through the windshield upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office.
The driver of the Chevy and the passenger in the Subaru were both seriously injured and were transported to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
The Subaru caught fire shortly after the crash, and multiple fire departments responded to the scene.
Fayette County 911 dispatch confirmed that all three individuals involved in the incident were taken to the hospital.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
