OHIO — A woman died and two others were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Pickerington Road near Refugee Road in Violet Township.
Authorities said a man was driving a Dodge southbound on Pickerington Road when a Ford traveling north attempted to turn left into a private driveway, crossing the southbound lane.
The Dodge struck the Ford, causing both vehicles to go off the road. Police said the female passenger in the Ford was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
The passenger, 79-year-old Marcella Hoover of Reynoldsburg, was not wearing a seat belt, according to troopers.
Hoover was taken to Grant Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Both drivers involved in the crash were hospitalized in stable condition. The crash remains under investigation.
