
FLORIDA — A woman is dead and two South Georgia men were injured after a pickup truck collided head-on with a bucket line truck Tuesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred along 2nd Street when a northbound pickup truck, driven by a 69-year-old woman from Wewahitchka, veered off the roadway and struck a bucket truck that was stationed on the east shoulder for utility work.
At the time of the collision, two workers were secured in the bucket truck’s extended boom. Both were thrown from the bucket upon impact, according to the FHP report.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the workers, a 36-year-old man from Cairo, Georgia, sustained minor injuries. The second worker, a 22-year-old man from Crawfordville, Georgia, suffered serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
