ILLINOIS — A 38-year-old Decatur woman was killed Thursday night after she and her two teenage children were reportedly stabbed, authorities said.
Decatur Police officers responded around 9:47 p.m. to a home on the 1900 block of East Main Street, where they found three victims with apparent stab wounds. The victims were taken by ambulance to Decatur Memorial Hospital. The mother, later identified by the Macon County Coroner as Dawnette M. Sigmon, died from her injuries.
Her two children, ages 14 and 16, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released from the hospital.
Police said the crime scene has been processed, and investigators have collected multiple interviews and video surveillance footage. The investigation is ongoing.
