According to Hernando Police, 41-year-old Orenzo Lynn Odom was shot during a physical altercation at the Avondale Apartments, located at 986 Hill Street.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 6:50 p.m. and found Odom suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He received medical attention at the scene and was transported to Baptist-DeSoto Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The suspects were identified as Edrick Thornton, 49, of Hernando, and Keshay Jones, 35, also of Hernando.

Both are being held without bond at the DeSoto County Adult Detention Center.
Authorities say evidence is being processed and will be sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab for further analysis.
