SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in Oconee County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 3 p.m. on SC 24 near Theo Martin Road. Troopers said a car traveling east on SC 24 collided with an SUV heading west.
The impact caused the SUV to veer off the right side of the road and overturn.
The driver of the car, identified by the Oconee County Coroner as 83-year-old Knox Howard Kelley, was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
All three occupants of the SUV were injured and taken to a hospital. Their conditions have not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
