TENNESSEE — One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning behind a shopping center on Bell Road and Murfreesboro Pike, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Police said officers were called to the area at approximately 4 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a shooting at 482 Bell Road. When officers arrived, they found that two people had been shot.
Authorities said one victim died at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries and is expected to recover. Police did not release any information about the person who was killed, noting that next-of-kin notification is still underway.
Investigators said they are waiting for nearby businesses to open so they can request and review surveillance footage from the area. Police are also working to determine what led up to the shooting, but said it is still early in the investigation.
No suspect information has been released at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
