KENTUCKY — A woman is dead and a man injured following a shooting and stabbing early Tuesday morning at a downtown Louisville apartment complex.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to the Avenue Plaza Apartments in the 400 block of South 8th Street after receiving a report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found a woman inside an apartment who had died from a gunshot wound. A man with a stab wound was later located outside the apartment. He was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Ellis said.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating. No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. It is not yet known if the two individuals were connected.
