MICHIGAN — Authorities are investigating after two men were found unresponsive inside a Plainfield Township business early Wednesday morning, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were called around 3 a.m. to a business near Plainfield Avenue and Mark Street NE, where they discovered two men unresponsive. First responders administered life-saving measures, including Narcan.
A 30-year-old man from Muskegon regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital, where he is now listed in stable condition. A 52-year-old man from Plainfield Township was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe drugs played a role in the incident. Deputies said an initial report of a gas odor at the business was later determined to be from gasoline and unrelated to the case.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division is continuing to investigate.
