GEORGIA — A man was killed and another person was detained following an overnight shooting in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood, police said.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 500 block of Emily Place NW around 2 a.m. Thursday after reports of a person being shot. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.
Police said a possible suspect was detained at the scene and taken in for questioning. No charges have been announced.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
