KENTUCKY — An Indiana man is dead and another person seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash in Burkesville Thursday night.
Kentucky State Police Post 15 said the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. on KY 485 near the parking lot of Sulpher Creek Marina.
Investigators said 66-year-old Ronald Huser of Lebanon, Indiana, was driving a pickup truck when he lost control, veered into a steep embankment, and struck a tree.
Huser refused medical treatment at the scene. His passenger, 65-year-old Douglas Johnson, was taken to Cumberland County Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Another passenger, 38-year-old Mallory Larson, was also taken to the hospital and later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Huser was arrested and charged with DUI (first offense), vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol, and first-degree assault.
The investigation remains ongoing.
