TENNESSEE — A man has been charged with criminal homicide after a person was found dead in a South Nashville apartment Saturday evening.
According to court documents, officers responded around 8:30 p.m. to the Casa Linda Efficiency Apartments following a 911 call from 61-year-old Timothy Scarbrough, who reported that someone had been shot.
At the scene, officers found a man deceased with multiple stab wounds and severe facial trauma. Scarbrough told detectives he had taken drugs with the victim throughout the day and believed the victim was stealing and reselling the drugs.
He said he left the apartment around 6 p.m. and returned about 30 minutes later to find the man dead.
Authorities recovered the suspected weapon, and investigators said Scarbrough’s account did not match the evidence at the scene.
Scarbrough was arrested and is being held on a $200,000 bond. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victim.
