OHIO — Canton police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man at a local barbershop.
Braylon Foster died Friday after being shot multiple times at Klipz Barbershop on Mahoning Road NE.
The shooting occurred shortly after 3 p.m., according to police. In a 911 call, the shop’s owner told dispatchers that a customer had been shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they found Foster suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Deontae McCollum. He has been charged with murder and assault and is currently being held in the Stark County Jail.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear as the investigation continues. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Canton police at 330-489-3144.
