
FLORIDA — One person was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in Sebring, according to the Sebring Police Department.
Officers reported a large law enforcement presence in the area of Melady Avenue around 8:12 p.m. Tuesday as they responded to the incident. Police said the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rikelmer Adiel Roblero Bartolon, 30, in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with homicide.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the Sebring Police Department said the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Residents were asked to avoid the area while first responders continued their investigation at the scene.
