OHIO — A two-vehicle crash on Route 172 near Perry Drive claimed the life of a Canton woman Monday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Authorities said 54-year-old Tracy Broyles was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Geo Metro when she failed to yield while making a left turn onto Perry Drive.
Her vehicle was struck by a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica.
Broyles was transported to Aultman Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Four others sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including a 26-year-old Canton man who was a passenger in the Geo Metro.
The driver of the Pacifica, a 33-year-old Franklin woman, and two child passengers were also taken to the hospital. Their ages were not disclosed.
The Highway Patrol said alcohol is not suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation.
Emergency crews from Perry, Plain Township, Jackson Township, and Massillon assisted at the scene.
