One person dead, four injured following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — One person is dead, and four others are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a crash Tuesday night in Adams County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP).

Troopers said the crash occurred around 6:52 p.m. on State Route 73 at Portsmouth Road.

A 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 43-year-old Christopher L. Gilley, was traveling north when it crossed the centerline and collided with a 1998 Buick Lesabre carrying four passengers.

Gilley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The four occupants of the Lesabre were transported to area hospitals with critical injuries.

OSP was assisted by multiple agencies, including the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Franklin Township Fire Department, and West Union EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
