
PENNSYLVANIA — One person is dead and another was injured following a wrong-way, head-on crash early Friday morning on Interstate 99 in Blair County.
According to sources, the crash happened just after 5:45 a.m. near Tyrone. Initial reports indicate a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the highway before colliding head-on with another vehicle.
The Blair County coroner was called to the scene, where one person was pronounced dead. Another victim was transported to a local hospital. Their condition has not been released.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash.
Interstate 99 was shut down northbound between Exit 48 (PA 453 – Tyrone) and Exit 52 (PA 350 – Bald Eagle), with traffic being diverted off the highway.
The investigation remains ongoing.
