OHIO — A semi-truck driver died Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 270 South near U.S. Route 33, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers were called to the scene just before 10:30 a.m. Police said a tractor-trailer was traveling southbound when a Chevrolet van either slowed or stopped on the freeway. The semi struck the van, overturned, and went off the road.
Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Geitter said the driver of the semi was pronounced dead at 10:28 a.m. Police later confirmed the victim’s identity as the semi’s driver.
The crash remains under investigation.
