
GEORGIA — One pedestrian was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 southbound in Liberty County early Thursday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Authorities said the man left his vehicle on the left shoulder of the interstate around 5 a.m. and began walking south along the roadway. Investigators say he passed Exit 76 in Midway before entering the travel lanes, where he was struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian died as a result of the crash. His identity has not yet been released.
The incident initially blocked two lanes on I-95 southbound before U.S. Highway 84, causing delays for drivers during the morning commute.
Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
