PENNSYLVANIA — A woman was killed and several others were injured in a crash over the weekend on Interstate 80 in Mercer County, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers said the crash occurred Saturday morning on I-80 eastbound in Findley Township. A 2014 Ford vehicle pulling a U-Haul trailer was traveling on an overpass when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the roadway and overturned.
Investigators said weather conditions may have been a factor, noting that it was snowing and the roads were icy at the time of the crash.
Authorities identified the victim as 65-year-old Lourdes Jimenez, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger, identified as 62-year-old Carlos Rosa, was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. Three additional passengers suffered minor injuries, while four others were not hurt.
Troopers said only one person in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt, and that individual was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
