OHIO — A Leavittsburg woman was killed late Monday night following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Jackson Township, according to state troopers.
The crash occurred around 10:38 p.m. on Interstate 80 westbound near an exit in Jackson Township. Troopers said 39-year-old Michelle Ritenour was involved in a collision with a semi truck that left her vehicle disabled on the interstate.
After the initial crash, Ritenour’s vehicle was struck by another driver traveling on the highway, troopers said. She was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Troopers said that driver is expected to recover.
The crash remains under investigation by state authorities.
