FLORIDA — A 27-year-old Nebraska woman was killed Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Gadsden County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 8:40 p.m. near mile marker 179.
According to investigators, the woman was driving an SUV eastbound on I-10 when she rear-ended a sedan driven by a 66-year-old man from Midway. Two passengers — a 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman, also from Midway — were inside the sedan.
After the collision, the sedan traveled into the median and struck a guardrail, while the SUV left the roadway and hit a tree, authorities said.
The Nebraska woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the sedan was not injured, and the two passengers sustained minor injuries.
Officials said all individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
