WISCONSIN — One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Eau Claire County, according to authorities.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:21 a.m. to a report of a crash with injuries near the E25600 block of County Road G in the Town of Wilson. Officials said the vehicle left the roadway and the occupant was ejected during the crash.
Witnesses at the scene attempted life-saving measures until emergency crews arrived and took over care. Despite those efforts, authorities said the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the sheriff’s office, a preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
The identity of the deceased has not been released. The crash remains under investigation.
