VIRGINIA — A 21-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash last week in Franklin County, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash happened around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, on Booker T. Washington Highway near High Meadows Drive.
State police said the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet C4 was traveling north on Booker T. Washington Highway when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The driver then overcorrected, crossed the roadway and went down an embankment. The vehicle rolled over during the crash, ejecting the passenger.
The passenger, identified as Marcus Dillard Keen, 21, of New Castle, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, police said.
The driver’s identity has not been released. Authorities say charges are pending as the investigation continues.
