VIRGINIA — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Monday morning in Pittsylvania County.
Authorities said the crash happened at about 4:42 a.m. on Route 844.
According to investigators, 37-year-old Kevin Leander Myers of Dry Fork was driving a 2022 Nissan Sentra at a high rate of speed when he crossed the centerline, overcorrected, and ran off the right side of the road, striking a tree.
Myers died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by state police.
