VIRGINIA — A 17-year-old boy from Mecklenburg County died Sunday evening following a single-vehicle crash in Amelia County, according to Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at 8:44 p.m. on Pridesville Road, about one mile north of Amelia Avenue.
Investigators say the teen, from the town of Clarksville, was driving a 2023 Dodge Hornet when the vehicle ran off the road, overturned, and crashed.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene from his injuries. Three passengers in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
