VIRGINIA — Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening in Henry County.
The crash happened around 5:35 p.m. on Greensboro Road near the intersection with Tensbury Drive.
Police said a 2003 Ford Mustang traveling north went off the right side of the roadway and struck a pole.
The driver, identified as 59-year-old Jerold Carter of Martinsville, died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
