VIRGINIA — A man died Saturday morning after his vehicle lost control and struck a tree on Route 11, according to Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded around 10 a.m. to a crash near the intersection with Cougar Trail Road.
Authorities said a southbound Oldsmobile 88 went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, lost control, and went off the left side into a median before hitting a tree. The vehicle split in half and caught fire.
The driver, 50-year-old Kenneth S. Goodson of Pulaski, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers noted that Goodson was not wearing a seatbelt.
