TEXAS — A woman was killed early Saturday morning in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a box truck on the city’s northwest side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 5:39 a.m. to the 11700 block of West Loop 1604 North at Bandera Road following reports of a major accident.
Police said the woman was driving toward a red light when she failed to stop at a safe distance and crashed into the rear of a box truck that was already stopped at the intersection.
The woman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released her identity or age pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials said additional details may be released as detectives continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the crash.
