TENNESSEE — The Paris Police Department has launched an investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Monday morning.
According to police, a Henry County woman was crossing the road at a marked, lighted crosswalk near the south end of Hospital Circle, close to Henry County Medical Center, when she was struck by a van.
She was rushed to the hospital’s emergency room, but despite efforts to transport her to a trauma center by helicopter, she was pronounced dead.
Authorities have not yet released the woman’s identity.
Police said they are reviewing evidence and will provide updates as they become available.
