
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed in a fiery crash Thursday afternoon in Richland County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Officials said the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Vandoval Road. A 2019 Ford Fiesta was traveling west when the driver swerved off the roadway, struck a ditch and caught fire, authorities said.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Richland County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the victim.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
