
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in Horry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Joseph L. Rowell with SCHP said the crash occurred in the area of Freewoods Road and Avery Drive. Authorities reported that a 2025 Chevrolet SUV was traveling north on Freewoods Road when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The driver died as a result of the crash, officials said. No additional information about the victim has been released.
Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:01 p.m.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
