
SOUTH CAROLINA — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred Saturday afternoon near Lexington.
According to investigators, the crash happened around 12:55 p.m. on Muddy Springs Road near its intersection with Bledsoe Road. Troopers said a Cadillac sedan was traveling east on Muddy Springs Road when it was struck head-on by a Dodge truck at the intersection. After the collision, the Dodge truck ran off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree.
The driver of the Cadillac was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was transported by emergency medical services to Lexington Medical Center, where they later died from their injuries.
The driver of the Dodge truck was also taken by EMS to Lexington Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not released.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
