SOUTH CAROLINA — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Tuesday morning on Hilton Head Island.
According to highway patrol officials, the crash happened at about 12:55 a.m. when a car traveling east on Main Street struck a curb, left the roadway and collided with a tree. Authorities said the driver was the only person inside the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
