One person dead following vehicle crash in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Anderson County, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred on Highway 81 North at Bowen Road, where a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree in the front yard of a nearby home.

The car came to a stop just outside the residence.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the coroner was called to the emergency room around 8:30 a.m. The driver was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The name of the victim and the cause of the crash have not yet been released. The incident remains under investigation.
