SOUTH CAROLINA — A man from Travelers Rest died after his truck flipped over a bridge and landed upside down in a creek late last month, authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. on May 31 on Due West Road.
According to emergency responders, a 911 call reported the incident, and first responders arrived to find the truck had gone over the bridge, down an embankment, and landed on its roof in the water below.
The driver, identified as Austin Montgomery McKee, was transported to AnMed Health for treatment.
He died from his injuries on Thursday, June 5, according to the coroner’s office.
The cause of death was listed as a brain injury resulting from multiple traumatic injuries.
