SOUTH CAROLINA — A driver died early Saturday morning after crashing into a utility pole on Highway 701, the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near Ebenezer Road around 5 a.m. after the single-vehicle crash. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Horry County Fire Rescue is working to clear the roadway and repair damaged utility equipment.
Lanes remain blocked, and authorities are advising drivers to avoid the area to ensure safety and reduce traffic delays.
