One person dead following vehicle crash in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — A Seneca woman died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Anderson County, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.

The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. on Old Dobbins Bridge Road at the intersection of Andersonville and Milford Road.

Officials identified the victim as 66-year-old Mealody Scheunemann. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, Scheunemann was driving on Old Dobbins Bridge Road when she lost control of her vehicle. The car left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned, ejecting her from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
