SOUTH CAROLINA — A two-vehicle crash late Friday night left one person dead and four others injured, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Elkins Road and U.S. Highway 301.
Authorities say a Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling east on Elkins Road when it collided with a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck on US 301.
Both occupants of the Grand Marquis were taken to a nearby hospital, where the passenger later died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver remains hospitalized.
Three of the four people in the Dodge Ram were also injured and transported for medical treatment. Their conditions have not been disclosed.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
