One person dead following vehicle crash in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in West Cocalico Township, according to authorities.

Police with the Ephrata Police Department said the crash occurred around 4:05 p.m. in the 100 block of Mill Road in Reinholds.

Investigators said a 67-year-old man was driving a GMC Yukon northbound on Mill Road when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons. The SUV then traveled through a field before striking a residence.

Officials reported that the vehicle caught fire after the crash, but the flames were quickly extinguished by residents and responding fire crews. No one inside the home was injured.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Ephrata police.
