PENNSYLVANIA — A 19-year-old man from Clarks Summit was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning on an icy highway in Susquehanna County, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Gibson.

State police said the crash occurred just after 6 a.m. on State Route 92 in Gibson Township. The driver, whose name was withheld pending notification of family members, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, rain followed by a sudden drop in temperature caused icy conditions on the roadway. Police said a 2006 Ford F-250 was traveling south when it lost control about a half-mile south of State Route 2071. The pickup truck slid off the roadway into an embankment and struck several trees.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll onto its passenger side. Police said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected through the passenger-side window. The crash remains under investigation.
