PENNSYLVANIA — A Scranton man was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Wayne County, according to county officials.
Wayne County Coroner Edward R. Howell said Chief Deputy Coroner Mark M. James pronounced 49-year-old Kevin Dexter Laborde dead just before 5 a.m. at the scene of the crash on Finn Swamp Road in Paupack Township. The crash occurred at 243 Finn Swamp Road.
Authorities said Laborde was a passenger in a sedan that traveled off Finn Swamp Road and struck several trees along the side of the roadway. The impact of the crash ejected Laborde from the vehicle, officials said.
It was not immediately clear who was driving the car at the time of the crash. The Pennsylvania State Police in Honesdale said the crash remains under investigation and declined to release additional details.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, according to the coroner.
