PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon in Butler Township, Luzerne County.
Troopers were called to the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 near the Interstate 80 on-ramp shortly after 12:30 p.m. for a report of a rollover crash.
According to investigators, the vehicle was traveling south on I-81 when it suddenly swerved, struck an embankment, and overturned onto its driver side.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional details about the victim have been released.
State Police say the investigation remains ongoing and further information will be shared when appropriate to protect the integrity of the case.
