PENNSYLVANIA — One person was killed and another was injured early Wednesday morning after a crash on Interstate 79 in South Fayette Township.
The crash occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes. Authorities said a vehicle collided with the back of a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The condition of the second person injured in the crash has not yet been released.
Firefighters and paramedics remained on scene for several hours, and traffic restrictions were in place while crews worked to clear the area.
