PENNSYLVANIA — An 80-year-old man died following a crash in Shrewsbury Township on Sept. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers said Thomas Downey, of Glen Rock, was driving a Mazda MX-5 on Pleasant Valley Road near Taylor Hill Road around 7:42 a.m. when he experienced a medical episode and went off the roadway.
His car went down a steep embankment, struck a boulder head-on, overturned, and came to rest on its roof, police said.
Downey was taken to York Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No one else was in the vehicle, and no other cars were involved.
